The Week of the Arctic 2017 took place in Fairbanks, Alaska and the Anchorage Museum participated by way of North by North, a festival that focussed on the Circumpolar North through a variety of presentations, events and local activities.

The museum approached me to design a map of the Circumpolar North for the festival, with a focus on Alaska. The map was used in presentations, on social media, and for products the museum produced for their gift store.

In collaboration with Alaska Public Media, the VoxVan project transformed an old utility van into a mobile story-gathering unit. The van was parked at a variety of locations and events in 2014 to video-record the voices of Anchorage’s people, telling their own stories in 30-second segments. The resulting videos were on display within the elevator at the Anchorage Museum, illustrating the many stories, perspectives, histories and cultures of Anchorage residents.
